A pregnancy and childbirth kit is also available from Crystal Heart Healing Centre.

Homeopathic Philosophy

When a person becomes ill, it is the whole that is sick: body, mind, spirit. The body manifests symptoms of illness but it is not the origin of the illness.

The origin of illness lies in an imbalance of the vital force. The symptoms expressed by the body, mind, and spirit are the manifestation of that imbalance. By matching the symptoms of illness with the appropriate homeopathic remedy, the vital force returns to balance. The symptoms disappear as the person heals themselves.

When we are healthy every part of us is in balance. The body constantly monitors itself i.e. pulse rate, temperature, digestion etc and makes any necessary adjustments. So, if we are hot we sweat to cool down; when we eat we produce more stomach acid to digest the food; when we exercise our heart rate goes up to get more oxygen to our muscles, and so on. In biological terms, this balancing act is known as homeostasis.

When we are ill the same thing happens - the body works to maintain homeostasis. That is why we get a fever with an infection – it is the body’s way of killing off the virus or bacteria. Vomiting or diarrhoea gets rid of bad food. Coughing expels foreign bodies or excess mucus. So, although they are often uncomfortable and even unpleasant at times, symptoms are actually a good thing because they are the outward signs of the body’s natural attempts to heal itself.

Sometimes the body's natural defenses can get a little overwhelmed, for example in an acute illness, and homeopathy provides the extra support needed to bring the body back into balance. This is sometimes the only way to restore health today because many bacteria have developed immunity to antibiotics and there are only a few medicines that are effective against viruses.

Because of its gentle approach, homeopathy is very helpful during pregnancy for morning sickness and reflux and during childbirth, to expel placenta, prevent tearing, hemorrhages and tone up the uterus.

We also provide remedies to relieve the pain of mastitis and cracked nipples during breastfeeding as well as remedies for babies who suffer from colic, diarrhoea and fever.
